This was our first time at the AJMF, and we are already looking forward to next year. The three programs we saw – Bill Charlap Trio, Salute to Holiday, ATL Collective sings the music of Chess Records – were outstanding. Under Joe Alterman’s leadership and terrific cameo performances, and with great professional and volunteer support, AJMF will soon become the premier Jewish music festival in the United States. paraphrase Irving Berlin: “God Bless the AJMF.”

I want to thank and congratulate Joe Alterman for facilitating this fabulous concert festival celebrating music, jazz and our Jewish heritage. In particular, the MC of the last performance Adan Bean and his poignant commentary on the relationship between Jews and African-Americans was uplifting.
