An Evening Of Light with Cantor Gideon Zelermyer
A family-friendly celebration of music from around the Jewish world: Pop, Broadway, Classical and Liturgical, including the music of his friend and collaborator, Leonard Cohen.

Cantor Gideon Zelermyer is the Cantor of Congregation Shaar Hashomayim since 2004. He has performed around the world as a featured soloist. He has toured North America and the United Kingdom with the Shaar Hashomayim Synagogue Choir, performed with Kent Nagano and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. In 2016 he was the first Canadian cantor to perform at the United Nations. Gideon is frequently heard singing the national anthems at Centre Bell in Montréal and at Fenway Park in Boston. He is the featured soloist on Leonard Cohen’s Juno and Grammy Award winning song “You Want It Darker.”
